Trinity Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee strives to carry out Trinity’s Mission and Vision to serve the greater community, conscious that we are part of God’s wide world. We address the issues of poverty, justice, hunger, homelessness and oppression of all kinds.
We meet monthly to seek out ways to help. In the past year, we have had “Second Sunday Collections” of items needed by local outreach organizations. We have supported Second Harvest Food Bank, New Bethany, The Hispanic American Center in Bethlehem, Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, Valley Youth House Shelter, Last Chance animal rescue, The Emergency Sheltering System, The Allentown Rescue Mission, and Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter.
Every year, the committee nominates organizations to receive a gift from our Centennial Fund. The nominees are then voted on by the parishioners at our annual meeting. In recent years gifts have been given to Holy Innocents Episcopal Church on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, because their church had been destroyed, the World Central Kitchen to support a feeding program in Gaza, and the National Immigration Law Center.
We welcome you to join us: we’re always looking for new ways to serve, and more hands, minds, and souls to carry out God’s work. And we have a lot of fun doing it. If you wish to support our efforts, you can donate to Trinity and designate the funds to be used for Outreach. Here’s the link: https://www.trinitybeth.org/how-to-give.html
