Day 2
The First Sunday Worship Service in All Saint's Cathedral, Mbabane
Well, I am at the end of a glorious day at All Saints Cathedral, with Paul preaching, and being upstaged by
the interpretor, but most folks at the Siswati speaking service knew English, so all was fine. Dan and I attended
both the English service at 8 am, and the Siswati service at 10 am, -- very warm, very welcoming, and I had a hard
time at the 8, especially, with keeping from weeping as the people were so wonderful, the a cappella music and
singing was so moving, and the children all touched my heart --- it's very difficult to put into words how spiritual
this experience was-they had brought in four choirs for the Siswati service-the children were there at the end
of that service, about 100 of them (can you believe this??) and they sang one song in Siswati, and one in English,
--there were large vases of wildflowers all over the church, to welcome us-everyone was so nice, loving, and Paul
was his magnificent self-it's hard to write a sermon when one has an interpretor speaking, but he was really terrific
and we were so proud to be there, watching and listening.
Dan will surely add more, -- we are both sure that the Holy Spirit is with us every moment of each day. We have
come to a country of very gracious and gentle people, and hope to make our way, slowly, to see where we might help,
now and in the long run. More later, am sure. Bless you all for your prayers - we sure do need them, as this is
taking on a life of its own, and we must have faith that, wherever we are led, it will be the right path.
love, maggie
