The OUTREACH Committee of Trinity church has dual missions:
To work with our congregation on how to serve the
larger community while furthering and clarifying their knowledge and understanding of what the groups we support do.
Additionally, we strive to reach out, to assist various organizations on a local, national and international level with monetary, and, on the local level, volunteer needs.
The Outreach Committee distributes a number of grants each year to
organizations for whom small grants will provide essential assistance
in meeting their mission. Historically, we have leaned towards start-up groups, but certainly can and will consider all requests.
Organizations who provide a "hand up"; those who deal with
poverty and its effects are all of interest to us, Additionally, Trinity Parish members are invited to nominate
grant recipients throughout the year.
You are invited to send an email to the Outreach Committee to request consideration for a grant.
The Committee sponsors an Outreach Fair each spring. This venue provides local organizations the opportunity to explain what they do and provide information to attendees on how they may be able to help. We are actively engaged in bringing in community leaders as speakers for Sunday Adult Forums in the continuing effort to provide information, inspiration and insight to our congregation on poverty, its effects and ways that we can all reach out to help in alleviating and improving conditions for our brothers and sisters in need.
