Trinity Housing Ministry

In 1987 the parish purchased a six apartment building, and established it as a separate corporation and rehabilitated the building with a HUD loan. The Genesis Project, as it was known, provides apartments for six single mothers and their children.

The purpose of Trinity Housing Ministry is to provide on-going support and encouragement to residents of our south side apartment house to improve their quality of life and ultimately to empower them to acquire independent housing.

For more information, contact the Chair of the Trinity Housing Ministry Committee, Maggie Land

Housing is both a committee and an outreach group; it oversees Trinity-owned low-rent property.

The Housing Committee of Trinity Church consists of the same personnel as Trinity Housing Ministry:

Maggie Land, chair
Marie Armold
Addison Bross
Flex Illick
Liz Clark
Luis Narvaez
Sandy Utley
Bill Winterburn
Dennis Taylor, vestry liaison
Michael Bryant, ex officio
Fr. Nick Knisely, ex officio

In May 2001, the committee reports that it is working towards replacing the back porches at our South Side house and that all six units of the house are occupied. Marie Armold and Flex Illick are the ones most involved with ongoing care of our tenants and the house.
